We are a young, fun and friendly couple in Hyattsville’s quirky and artsy historic district, which is less than two miles from the D.C. border and within five miles of the University of Maryland College Park, Catholic University, Howard University, Gallaudet University, Walter Read Medical Center, Washington Hospital Center, Prince George’s Shock Trauma Hospital and Trinity Washington University. Also about 20 minutes from NOAA, NASA, Discovery Communications, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington Navy Yard, one mile from the West Hyattsville metro on the Green Line, which is 1 stop outside of DC (15 minute ride to Gallery Place, 10 minute ride to U Street). A shuttle bus to it is just a block from our house, which operates on weekdays. Other metro buses are nearby and there is a shuttle to UMD. We are within just a few miles of major thoroughfares such as route 50 Annapolis, and 295 (to Baltimore). We are 30-40 minutes from BWI, 25-35 minutes to Reagan National Airport, and about an hour from Dulles International Airport. We are about 20 minutes from Union Station. The trailhead to Magruder Park, which hooks up to hundreds of miles of trail systems in the region, is practically in our backyard. The house is also walking distance to Pizzeria Paradiso, Streetcar 82 brewery, Maryland Meadworks, Busboys and Poets, Yes Organic Market, Tara Thai, Franklin’s Brewpub, Vigilante Coffee, Chipotle, Elevation Burger, a frozen yogurt place, Tanglewood Works, Three Birds Sewing, and Love Yoga. We also back up to Magruder Park, with walking and bike trails connecting to DC. We are within a few miles of the DC Brau, Harper Macaw Chocolatiers, Costco, New Columbia Distillery and Union Market.
